Founded in 1972, DSC provides educational, professional, residential and behavioral support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Champaign and Ford counties. If you are seeking a rewarding and fulfilling job, we are currently hiring for the position of Director of Development and Communications.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Director of Development and Communications at DSC, you will be a member of a team that is responsible for coordinating and completing development activities, including fundraising, planned giving, community education programs, public relations activities, and special projects. Each day, you will carry out a variety of rewarding work where you will play an integral role in the success of the company and our mission to support people to live a rich and meaningful life.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 2 years related work experience preferred
  • Proven success in leading fundraising programs
  • Supervisory experience desirable
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff, volunteers, community personnel and leaders, and Board of Directors
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of community resources, programs, services and needs of individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Experience with donor database a
    plus
HOURS:
  • Full-time, 40 hours a week; Must be flexible to work a variety of hours during periods leading up to fundraising events.
