Founded in 1972, DSC provides educational, professional, residential and behavioral support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Champaign and Ford counties. If you are seeking a rewarding and fulfilling job, we are currently hiring for the position of E1st LEAP Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The E1st LEAP (Leaders in Employing All People) Coordinator is an integral leader for a team responsible in developing an innovative approach to community employment for all. The E1st LEAP Coordinator will embrace the Employment First (E1st) initiative: including outreach to job seekers with disabilities, their families, agency staff, local businesses, and other stakeholders with an investment in promoting the employment of individuals with disabilities in the general workforce. The E1st LEAP Coordinator will organize these efforts within the agency as well as be the primary contact for collaboration with all community participants. Responsibilities include becoming proficient through train-the-trainer education, coordinating agency training, and on-going outreach activities specific to the Employment First Initiative.
REQUIREMENTS:
  • Creative, energetic, team player with experience and/or education in Rehabilitation, Special Education or Human Services preferred.
  • Above average written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive an agency vehicle.
  • Marketing experience a plus.
HOURS:
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with some evening and weekend hours.
