DSC provides educational, professional, residential, employment and behavioral support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Champaign and Ford counties. RESPONSIBILITIES:

As the Community First Manager at DSC, you will be responsible for day-to-day supervision of the Community First/Employment Services Program and agency efforts to support people in making community connections. You will also provide direct supervision and support to staff and people served. Each day, you will carry out a variety of rewarding work where you will play an integral role in the success of the company and our mission to support people to live a rich and meaningful life.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred with at least one year of experience working directly with people with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities.
  • Understanding of behavior modification and individual service plan development.
  • Ability to lead, organize, teach, delegate and evaluate work.
  • Proficiency in writing and basic computer skills relative to all records, reports and communications necessary.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
  • Sufficient physical stamina and mobility for lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling.
  • Fundamental computer skills, including general web browsing and Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel)
  • One or more years of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities desirable
  • Sufficient physical stamina and mobility for lifting, carrying, bending, pushing and pulling. This may apply to the support of individuals and/or the products/materials related to the support of individuals
  • Valid driver’s license and the ability to drive an agency van.

HOURS:

  • 40 hours a week, Monday – Friday
